Not only cheese lovers have certainly wondered how the world-famous holes in the cheese come to be, ponder, ponder …

Some people definitely do ask themselves this question, but not everyone has to experience productions live, because non-cheese lovers probably don't go on a live cheese exploration tour, it definitely stinks too much ;-).

However, for all those who love stinky or fragrant gourmet snacks, there is a cheese factory not so far from the Berghotel Zirm, the Three Peaks Show Dairy in Dobbiaco.

It is something special to see the entire production process live, from milk to cheese. It takes a lot of time and effort to get these gourmet pieces to the table to be eaten.
In addition to a small museum, the Pustertal Valley show dairy also offers a review of the past in the traditional milk processing and cheese production of our region.

A film shows the daily life of South Tyrolean farmers
and their hard work to make it possible for us to enjoy and serve the special local products during the whole year.
From the visitors' gallery you can watch the cheese masters at work, from curdling the milk in the cheese maker to salting, everything is included.

The ripening cellar is particularly interesting,
offering an insight into the art of storing and ripening the cheese wheels. Aromas of various kinds are in the air, and the secret of the holes in the cheese is finally revealed - hold your nose or take a deep breath? Everyone decides how they like it and how much they can stand it :-).

Finally, and of course, what mustn't be missing? Jackpot! The tasting!
The cheese bites that you especially like are also available for sale, so why not enjoy these special delicacies at home?
